Job Description
As an Enterprise Data Modeler / Data Architect, you will design, govern, and evolve enterprise-wide data models, master data, and reference data across a complex transactional and analytical landscape. The role centres on defining canonical, transactional, and dimensional data models and ensuring consistent, governed data consumption across both operational systems and analytics use cases. You will partner closely with data engineering teams, business stakeholders, and governance leads to translate enterprise requirements into well-structured, scalable data architecture on a Databricks Lakehouse foundation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models using erwin Data Modeler, including subject-area and cross-domain canonical models.
- Define and enforce enterprise data standards covering naming, normalization, domains, and data types, and maintain data dictionaries and change-control processes.
- Architect Master Data Management (MDM) solutions with Informatica MDM across Customer, Product, Supplier, Pricing, and Party domains, including golden-record and match–merge logic.
- Define and manage reference data models (code sets, hierarchies, value lists) using Informatica R360 and establish stewardship workflows.
- Define Databricks Lakehouse patterns using Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and medallion (Bronze/Silver/Gold) architecture, translating models into optimized analytical schemas.
- Integrate data from Oracle Fusion, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, IBM OMS, Flintfox, HighRadius, and Informatica MDM with clear source-to-target mappings and lineage.
- Enforce data governance, security, and compliance (PII, GDPR, SOX) using Unity Catalog, role-based access, and classification standards.
- Lead modeling workshops, act as a subject-matter expert, and mentor data engineers and analysts on modeling and governance best practices.
Eligibility Criteria
You Must Have
- 3–5 years of experience in enterprise data modeling and data architecture roles.
- Advanced SQL with a strong grasp of normalized, dimensional, and canonical modeling approaches.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks (Delta Lake, Spark, Unity Catalog).
- Experience integrating major enterprise applications such as ERP, CRM, OMS, MDM, and AR systems.
- Solid understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata, and lineage.
Preferred
- Strong hands-on experience with erwin Data Modeler in large-scale environments.
- Working knowledge of Spark SQL, Python/PySpark, and Microsoft Power BI.
- Familiarity with Informatica DG/DQ for governance and data quality.
- Excellent communication skills across both business and technical audiences.
Salary in India 2026
For an Enterprise Data Modeler / Data Architect with 3–5 years of experience in Bangalore, the typical compensation is an industry-estimate range of ₹16–30 LPA, based on AmbitionBox / Glassdoor 2026 benchmarks for similar data architecture roles at large enterprises.
