About the Role
EarnIn is seeking a Platform Engineer to lead the strategic design, automation and optimization of its cloud infrastructure. This role centres on innovation in cloud operations – enabling rapid development and scaling solutions across teams and systems. It is designed for engineers who excel at critically evaluating the needs of a rapidly growing company and at anticipating and solving cloud challenges at scale. A major focus of the position is building AI agents and agentic workflows that automate platform operations, from infrastructure bootstrap and incident diagnosis to self-healing systems and PR-review bots.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and iterate on AI agents that automate platform operations, owning the full agent lifecycle – prompt engineering, tool/function-call orchestration, evaluation and production monitoring.
- Identify and eliminate repetitive human-in-the-loop workflows across CI/CD, environment management, access provisioning and change management.
- Support the Kubernetes platform on AWS EKS with a focus on environment hygiene and security, leveraging AI for anomaly detection, capacity recommendations and automated remediation.
- Maintain paved paths and self-service actions using the developer control plane (Cortex) to help teams move from idea to production with minimal friction.
- Strengthen operational excellence by monitoring SLOs and error budgets and using Datadog for metrics, traces and logs.
- Develop platform services and maintain service scaffolds and templates that encode testing and telemetry standards.
Eligibility / Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years in platform, infrastructure or backend engineering with deep knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS) and cloud-native architectures on AWS.
- Demonstrated experience building AI agents or agentic workflows – designing multi-step AI systems that autonomously perform operational tasks.
- Track record of automating repetitive workflows with AI-driven automation.
- Experience in GitOps (ArgoCD) and CI (GitHub Actions) for multi-service systems.
- Strong coding skills in Go and/or Python, treating infrastructure as software.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI or custom agent architectures.
- Experience with service mesh (e.g., Linkerd) and traffic management patterns.
- Hands-on contributions to developer productivity insights and observability for cost-aware engineering decisions.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
