This Mid-Level Software Engineer (Full Stack) role sits on eBay’s Risk Engineering team in Bengaluru. It’s a strong fit for engineers with 2–4+ years of hands-on experience building distributed systems and large-scale data solutions who want to solve real-world fraud and risk challenges while contributing to front-end and back-end products.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, develop and test full stack solutions for risk products, working across backend services and user-facing components.
- Build scalable systems that leverage distributed architecture and large-scale database systems.
- Create excellent user experiences for internal or external customers, using web technologies and modern frameworks.
- Research and evaluate technical choices, and propose solutions aligned to business and technology strategy.
- Participate actively in design discussions, code reviews and sprint-related team meetings.
- Collaborate with Architects, Product Management, Operations and other specialists to deliver solutions that meet requirements for performance, scalability and reliability.
- Develop technical and domain expertise in risk engineering and apply it to product challenges.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience; 2–4+ years as a software engineer.
- Strong Java/J2EE experience, plus familiarity with XML, Web Services and common design patterns.
- Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms and software design (OOAD).
- Experience with Oracle or NoSQL databases, REST APIs, event-sourced systems and WebSockets.
- Familiarity with big data tools (Hadoop ecosystem, Kafka, Storm, Flink) is a plus.
- Front-end experience (JavaScript, AngularJS, ReactJS, HTML5, CSS3) is desirable but not mandatory.
- Comfortable working in Agile development environments; strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to think creatively, adapt to changing priorities and make data-driven decisions under pressure.
- Risk domain expertise is a major plus.
