Deutsche Bank is hiring a Java Developer at the AVP level for its Pune technology division. As a global financial services firm with large engineering teams, Deutsche Bank builds mission-critical platforms that support trading, risk, client services and banking operations.

Role & Responsibilities

• Architect, design and develop high quality, maintainable and scalable software applications using Java and related technologies.
• Hands-on development work with Java, Hadoop, Oracle or similar back-end technologies.
• Design and build microservices-based solutions; work with cloud platforms (preferably GCP) and containerisation technologies.
• Work closely with Team Leads, Software Development Managers, functional analysts, QA and vendor teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Lead and manage scrum teams; contribute to Agile and Scrum delivery practices.
• Mentor and technically guide junior team members; provide coaching and knowledge transfer.
• Analyse, troubleshoot and fix software defects; perform performance tuning and use profiling/monitoring tools.
• Articulate issues, risks and progress to stakeholders and management in a timely manner.
• Contribute to solution design, architecture decisions and documentation, including design patterns and refactoring efforts.
• Collaborate on messaging and integration patterns (REST, SOA) and support build/deployment pipelines (Maven, Artifactory, TeamCity or Jenkins).
• Use Unix scripting to support automation and operational tasks.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience as a senior software engineer or equivalent role, with strong hands-on Java development background.
• Extensive experience building and operating microservices architectures.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring Core/Batch and related Java frameworks.
• Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop; familiarity with Spark and Scala is a plus.
• Cloud and container technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift and exposure to Azure or GCP.
• Front-end experience with Angular or React is desirable for full-stack collaboration.
• Experience with messaging/integration patterns, RESTful APIs and SOA principles.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and build tools: Maven, Artifactory, TeamCity or Jenkins.
• Strong skills in performance engineering: testing, monitoring, profiling and tuning production systems.
• Practical Unix/Linux scripting experience and operational troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams and articulate technical trade-offs.
• Nice to have: Spark job optimisation, Avro/Parquet file handling, and RDBMS/Oracle design and tuning.
