Key Responsibilities
As a Test Engineer at UBS, your responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements
- Creating comprehensive test plans, test cases, and execution strategies
- Designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts for electronic trading systems
- Producing clear test reports and exit summaries with actionable insights
- Continuously improving testing processes and methodologies
- Managing multiple testing initiatives simultaneously
- Applying strong problem-solving skills to complex functional and technical requirements

Required Skills & Expertise
Development & Programming
- Proficiency in Java and/or Python
- Strong understanding of software development and testing fundamentals
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, TestNG, Cucumber, Selenium, or similar tools
- Solid knowledge of QA methodologies and test lifecycle management
Databases & Systems
- Ability to understand and write DDL/DML queries
- Experience working with UNIX and Windows environments
Trading & Financial Systems
- Familiarity with trading flows and investment products
- Understanding of FIX protocol and/or SWIFT standards
- Experience working in Agile environments
Tools & Platforms
- Version control and CI/CD tools such as Git, GitLab, Jenkins
- Exposure to tools like NOMAD and Consul (preferred)
Nice to Have
- Certification in software testing
- Experience testing electronic trading or financial applications
- Ability to work independently and take ownership
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Experience working with global, distributed teams
